Dr. Wee Lei Hum
Associate Professor and Health Behavioural Specialist,
Faculty of Health Sciences, National University of Malaysia (UKM)
Dr. Wee Lei Hum is an Associate Professor and Health Behavioural Specialist at the Faculty of Health Sciences,
National University of Malaysia (UKM). She is the Director of the Health Education Master’s Program in UKM.
Her main areas of expertise are smoking cessation, health behavior, and workplace health promotion. Prior to
joining the University, she served at the Ministry of Health Malaysia for 23 years in various positions (Institute
for Health Behavioural Research, Health Education Division, Family Health Development Division, Telehealth
Division and Selayang Hospital) where she was involved in developing health promotion programmes. She is
an elected Independent Scientific Panel Member of the Malaysia Medical Research Ethics Committee and a
member of the Technical Working Group for Tobacco Control of the Ministry of Health of Malaysia. She is also
the national trainer for Certified Smoking Cessation Service Providers. She has been the academic advisor for
Healthiest Workplace Survey-AIA Vitality Programme since 2017.
