About Javier F. Magriñá
Dr. Magriñá is at present staff member of the Department of Gynecology at Mayo Clinic, Arizona. His main interest in research is the advancement of minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of benign and malignant gynecologic conditions. Their results have shown similar cure rates but with shorter hospital stay and faster recovery to normal life activities. Since February 20, 2003 Dr. Magriñá team have been applying robotic techniques for these procedures, using the robotic systems Zeus and Da Vinci. He is one of the most important people in robotic gynecologic development and their results have shown patient and surgeon advantages over the conventional laparoscopic techniques.
