Eduardo Soriano received his PhD in Developmental Neurobiology from the University of Barcelona in 1986 (Supervisor, Alfonso Fairén). After several years of post-doctoral training at the Universities of Lausanne and Frankfurt (Profs. Hendrik van der Loos and Michael Frotscher), he was appointed Associate Professor at the Institute of Cell Biology (University of Barcelona) in 1989, where he was promoted to Full Professor in 1995. He has been a Visiting Professor at several research centers, including the University of Fribourg (Michael Frotcher), the INSERM U-106 (Constantino Sotelo, Paris), Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharma (Mariano Barbacid, Princeton-USA) and USCF (Marc Tessier-Lavigne, San Francisco).
He has been honored with several national awards, including the "Rey Jaime I Research Award" (2000) and The “Francisco Cobos Biomedical Research Award” (2001), and I International Award from the International Institute for Research in Paraplegia (Zurich) in 1997. He has been Chairman of the National Biomedicine Granting Program (ANEP) 2008-2010. He is currently head of the "Developmental Neurobiology and Regeneration Laboratory" at IRB Barcelona, member of the CIBERNED Executive Committee (Centro de Investigación en Red contra las Enfermedades Neurodegenerativas), and Panel member and Vice-Chair of the LS5 Panel (Advanced Grants, Neurosciences, 2009, 2011 and 2013) at the European Research Council (ERC). Dr. Soriano has co-authored over 190 publications in International Journals. ES co-leads the national H Citation Index in Neurosciences (H index:54) and his work has been cited over 9,300 times.
On Friday May 4th at 1:00 pm the Pau Viladiu Hall (Duran i Reynals Hospital, ICO) will host the seminar a seminar “Role of Reelin in adult brain plasticity and Alzheimer´s Disease” by Eduardo Soriano, Senior Researcher at the Developmental Neurobiology and Regeneration Group, Institut de Recerca Biomedica (IRB), Barcelona.
