The Spanish Health Research Fund will finance 27 IDIBELL research projects


The Instituto de Salud Carlos III has issued a preliminary determination of the grant program in Health Research Projects of the Health Research Fund (FIS), corresponding to the call of 2011. The 27 IDIBELL selected projects will receive three million 400 000 Euros over the next four years.

 

FIS is intended to fund health research projects which may be completed as projects aimed at translational research consolidated groups in health (Intrasalud) or as general research projects.

 

IDIBELL submitted 65 projects, 27 have been accepted, representing over 40% of applications. The 27 projects receiving funding FIS are:

  • Interleukin-28B and HCV recurrence after liver transplantation in patients without steroids and randomized to receive cyclosporine or tacrolimus. Carme Baliellas.
  • Colorectal cancer screening: adaptation and implementation of the recommendations of follow-up colonoscopies. Gemma Binefa.
  • Prospective study of adherence to oral therapy in patients diagnosed with cancer.  Josep Maria Borràs.
  • The etiologic role and prognosis of papilloma virus in patients with oropharyngeal cancer. Xavier Bosch.
  • Usefulness of a scale based on the PIRO model for classifying hospitalized adults with community-acquired pneumonia according to the immune response and prognosis. Jordi Carratalà.
  • Identification of the molecular mechanisms that modify the phenotype in cystic fibrosis by exome and transcriptome sequencing.Teresa Casals.
  • Prospective validation of the short version of the specific test LDQOL Quality of Life (Liver Disease Quality of Life) for liver disease and liver transplantation. Teresa Casanovas.
  • Structural destabilization of addiction to oncogenes in breast cancer by blocking fatty acid synthase. Ramon Colomer.
  • Clinical and neurobiological determinants of second episodes of schizophrenia. Longitudinal study of first psychotic episodes.Fernando Contreras.
  • • Environmental, infectious and genetic risk factors associated with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), under the Multi-Case Study-Control (MCC-SPAIN).Silvia de San José.
  • Dynamic model of transmission of infection by HPV 16 and 18. Economic and health implications in the Spanish population under different scenarios of vaccination. Mireia Díaz.
  • Analysis of the impact of early noninvasive ventilation in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: randomized multicenter study. Eva Farrero. .
  • Neurocognitive functioning under extreme weight conditions (from Obesity to Anorexia nervosa): Analysis of specific endophenotypes and their association with therapy response. Fernando Fernández Aranda.
  • Exposure to ambient snuff smoke in open and semi open areas. Esteve Fernández.
  • Identification of a transcriptome, proteome and lipidoma of risk in the early stages of Parkinson's disease. Isidre Ferrer.
  • effectiveness of new treatments for localized prostate cancer risk: a randomized clinical trial. Ferran Guedea.
  • miRNA and costimulatory pathways of the immune response in early atherosclerotic lesions associated with chronic kidney disease. Miguel Hueso.
  • Molecular mechanisms regulated by caveolin-1 during tumor progression of Ewing's sarcoma.  Òscar Martínez Tirado.
  • COLONOMICS: Integration of the molecular basis of colorectal cancer for the detection and validation of new biomarkers. Víctor Moreno.
  • Clinical, pathological and genetic study of cardiac skeletal idiopathic myopathiesMontserrat Olivé.
  • Clinical and Experimental study of pathogenicity of Pseudomonas aeruginosa resistant to carbapenems in criticall patients. Carmen Peña.
  • proinflammatory markers and study of particles of LDL and HDL in the pathogenesis of atherosclerotic disease in HIV infection. Daniel Podzamczer.
  • Impact of oxidative stress in mitochondrial biogenesis, energy homeostasis and proteolysis and its regulation: therapeutic implications in adrenoleukodystrophy. Aurora Pujol.
  • Strategies to advance the understanding of the tumor suppressor STK11/LKB1 and identification of new therapeutic targets. Salvador Rodríguez Nieto.
  • Prospective randomized trial of antibiotic treatment vs observation of asymptomatic bacteriuria in transplant recipients patients renal. Núria Sabé Fernandez.
  • Pre-clinical and clinical characterization and a new therapeutic approach in breast cancer with acquired resistance to hormonal treatment. Ander Urruticoechea.
  • Prognostic factors and pathophysiology of remission of type 2 diabetes after bariatric surgery. Núria Vilarrasa.
